Hello there! I'm new to this platform and I'm a undergraduate student in chemistry. I am doing my thesis regarding mushrooms. First I have started wring a literature review about "different methods of mushroom extractions". I want to know where can I find suitable hot water extraction (HWE) set up by using laboratory glassware & apparatuses. I have read many scientific papers, watched videos but I couldn't find any proper scientific set up/image/protocol. It would be a great help if you can assist me. If anyone has done HWE before and you have images of your set up please share it with me. Thank you! 😇

Hey, thanks, But as I saw that method is using for alkaline extraction by many people. can we do the same for HWE? like use water in the round bottom flask? as I saw most common HWE method is directly boil in a container and filter it, but I would like a more appropriate scientific approach. If it is soxhlet then I can use that. (I also like to know about other HWE methods as well)

Let me know what you think, I'd say HWE with a soxhlet is your best bet since you can be really accurate with your measurements because it's a closed system.
