Every mushroom retreat at Fungi Academy is a week-long, hands-on container held at our HQ in Tzununa, Guatemala. From spore-to-fruit cultivation to sacred space holder training to deep psychedelic journeywork. Every program is co-created with a global team of teachers, real food, ceremony, and a community that becomes family. Since 2016 we've welcomed 1,000+ students from 40+ countries into our mushroom retreats on these sacred lands.

You can learn the theory of mushroom cultivation online, and many of our students start there. But a real mushroom retreat is something else entirely. The smell of fresh mycelium, the rhythm of a ceremony, the weight of a hand on your shoulder when something cracks open inside you? That belongs to the body. That belongs to the land.

The Land That Holds It All
Fungi Academy HQ sits on the western shore of Lake Atitlán, tucked into the village of Tzununa. We're nestled in the highlands, surrounded by volcanoes, cloud forests, and the kind of silence that only comes from being far from the machine.
The property is what you'd hope a mushroom academy looks like. Working labs, fruiting chambers, a ceremony space, gardens we eat from, a kitchen where the food is alive, and a porch facing the lake that's seen a thousand sunsets and just as many epiphanies.
This is the land that holds every Fungi Academy mushroom retreat. It's not a venue we rent. It's home.
