Psychedelics have never been more popular, decriminalization is happening all over the world, legalization feels just around the corner. Sacred Mushrooms have never been easier to get: in many places it’s as simple as placing an online order or walking into a store. Yet many communities are still lacking in effective role models to inspire the new generation of Psychonauts.

We believe that anyone with a kind heart and a passion for Sacred Earth Medicines and helping our peers is capable of stepping up and becoming a force of good and inspiration in their community!

We are excited to announce…

Psychedelic Journeywork Cohort:

Do you want to connect to a global community of Practitioners, Medicine Keepers and Psychonauts?

If this sounds like you, we are honored to invite you to The Psychedelic Journeywork Cohort 2024!

The Psychedelic Journeywork Cohort, taking place from September 4 – October 23, 2024, aims to empower you to take the wellbeing of yourself and your friends, family, and community into your own hands.

INCLUDING:

Are you ready to reconnect with the healing potential of psychedelic medicine? Our Psychedelic Journeywork Cohort is designed to reintroduce a culture that has lost touch with the beneficial uses of psychedelics.

For too long, the narrative around psychedelics has been dominated by the “this is your brain on drugs” era, limiting our society’s ability to embrace these powerful substances as tools for personal growth and healing. Now, you have the opportunity to shape the future of safe and effective psychedelic experiences.

By the end of this 7-Week Container, you’ll have a comprehensive understanding of the best practices and approaches, drawn from both traditional cultural uses and cutting-edge psychedelic science.

Julian
has explored many of the techniques humans have used to access the hidden dimensions of reality. He started group ceremonial practices at age 16 and has worked in ceremonies with practitioners from many traditions.

In the 1990s, Julian edited Britain’s best-selling pagan newspaper, Pagan Voice, and in 2001 he published one of the first books of the modern psychedelic renaissance, Pharmakon: Drugs and the Imagination.

In addition to using traditional sacred substances like Sacred Mushrooms in his practice, Julian’s work includes the first published account of the entheogenic ritual use of ketamine and several novel psychedelics.

Julian is the author of numerous books, essays, journals, and articles in both the academic and esoteric press. He sees his work as part of the process to re-imagine an earth-centered, curious, non-dogmatic spirituality. His practice is informed by the approach of chaos magic and lineages within Wicca and Uttarakaula Tantra.

Julian is a co-organizer of the psychedelic conference Breaking Convention and is a trustee of The Psychedelic Museum Project. As a founding member of the post-prohibition think tank, Julian holds a position on the Journal of Psychedelic Studies’ academic board. Healing Ancestral Burdens with the Support of Fungi
September 12, 10am MT

Our ancestors’ unresolved traumas can weigh us down across generations. In this workshop, we’ll learn how to engage with our earliest ancestors — our fungi allies (our ‘funcestors’) — to help release ancestral burdens and inherited patterns that no longer serve us. Sacred mushrooms can help transmute stuck energies, allowing us to step into greater personal freedom and live our wildest dreams free from ancestral burdens and hearts full of ancestral blessings.

BIO: Xochitl (pronounced “So-chil”) Kusikuy Ashe is an Afro-Quechua Aymara medicine woman, representing the fifth generation of her family’s healing lineage. For the past three decades, Xochitl has been sharing her wisdom as a respected teacher, guide, author, and community builder offering retreats, workshops, mentorships and ceremonies across the world.

At just 16, Xochitl became the first woman in five generations to be initiated into her Peruvian ancestral healing traditions. For the past 28 years, she apprenticed under her godfather, a Mazatec Medicine Man skilled in the ancient practice of healing with Teonanacatl (psilocybin mushrooms).

Blending ancestral wisdom with Western trauma-informed therapies such as Internal family systems, Xochitl bridges ancient healing traditions and modern wellness practices. Beyond education, she is a passionate preserver of Indigenous teachings, an expert in plant spirit communication, and a devoted advocate for honoring sacred mushrooms.

Through her unwavering commitment to these sacred practices, Xochitl not only helps individuals embark on joyful and empowered healing journeys but also ensures that these ancient traditions remain alive, relevant, and accessible for generations to come, so that we may remember that we live in a magical world.

Indigenous Use of Sacred Mushrooms
September 19, 10am MT

– Pre-Hispanic and Mazatec use of psilocybin
– What a Mazatec ceremony looks like
– What is decolonization
– How to decolonize your practice and look towards Indigenous wisdom as a guide without culturally appropriating

BIO: Azalea is a traditional mushroom healer with a passion for blending Indigenous wisdom with modern psychological practices. Her own transformative journey with plant medicines helped her to heal from PTSD, depression, and anorexia. This healing with psilocybin led her back to her roots. Being Mestiza (mixed Indigenous Mexican), she shared pre-hispanic and Mazatec ceremonial traditions, fostering a deep commitment to preserving these ancient practices globally.

Trained in Oaxaca, Mexico, under an Indigenous Mazatec lineage, and experienced in plant dietas with the Shipibo lineage in the Amazon, Azalea brings a richly integrated approach to her work. She serves as a bridge between worlds, merging age-old healing traditions with contemporary therapeutic practices.

Her credentials extend beyond the ceremonial space: she’s a facilitator at The Microdosing Institute, certified in Substance Abuse Treatment with Psychedelic Therapy, and has spent years globally facilitating psychedelic experiences and leading all-inclusive retreats. Azalea also contributes to the psychedelic community through journalism and consultancy, helping to expand understanding and respect for these powerful medicines.

As a child of Mother Earth, she aspires to empower others in their healing journeys, forging a sacred path of growth, transformation, and connection to the medicine within.

Citizen Science & Harm Reduction: Know Your Drugs

October 17, 10am MT

Hyphae Labs is at the forefront of psychedelic research, committed to providing accurate, science-backed insights into the rapidly evolving landscape of psychedelics. In this presentation, we will delve into our recent study, which involved testing a variety of mushroom chocolates obtained from smoke shops across the country. The purpose of this investigation was to assess the legitimacy of these products and their implications on consumer safety, industry regulation, and policy development both domestically and internationally.

As these products gain traction, particularly in areas with relaxed regulatory environments, questions arise about their safety, authenticity, and potency. Hyphae Labs conducted a comprehensive analysis, collecting samples from various smoke shops to test for the presence of psilocybin, psilocin, and other compounds typically found in psychedelic mushrooms.

BIO: Reggie founded Oakland Hyphae, a pioneering entity that hosted the Hyphae Cup and The Oakland Psychedelic Conference, positioning itself as the epicenter of impactful psychedelic events. Co-founding Hyphae Labs, Reggie leads the charge in psychedelic mushroom potency testing, contributing significantly to the industry’s advancement. Connect with Reggie on Instagram at @oakland.hyphae and @hyphaelabs, or on his HyphaeLeaks Substack

BONUS CLASS
ADHD & Sacred Mushrooms

October 24, 10am MT

In this presentation, we explore the potential of sacred mushrooms as indigenous alternative therapies for managing ADHD. Traditional treatment approaches often involve stimulant medications which may not be suitable for all individuals due to side effects or personal preferences. Studies suggest that certain compounds found in mushrooms exhibit neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties, which could contribute to managing ADHD symptoms effectively.

These insights pave the way for exploring how mushrooms, through methods like microdosing, may offer therapeutic support by enhancing focus, reducing impulsivity, and promoting overall cognitive clarity. This presentation invites participants to explore pathways toward holistic well-being and neurocognitive enhancement through the lens of fungal intelligence and its therapeutic potential.

BIO: Monica Cadena is an Afro-Chicana California-based journalist, community organizer, and Creatrix of the Psychedelics & Sensuality Conference.
