Crafting Plant & Fungi Medicine for Body, Mind and Spirit

If there’s one thing I’ve learned through years of growing, making, and journeying—it’s that mushrooms and herbs want to work together. The floral and fungal realms have this quiet, ancient symbiosis that feels like a reunion when they come together. They’re both masterful teachers and healers in their own right, but when combined, something magical happens… a kind of energetic harmony that speaks to the whole being—body, mind, spirit. Maybe even astral + earthly realms coming together? Making herbal mushroom chocolates, micros and/or tea, is a way to bring this connection to life. It’s sensual. It’s alchemical. And it’s medicine that feels good in your hands, heart, and nervous system. In this post, we share some of our favorite medicinal herb + mushroom pairings —rooted in intuition, tradition, and personal experience—so you can start (or deepen) your own exploration of this beautiful cross-kingdom collaboration.

Whether blending lion’s mane with rose and gotu kola for clarity, or infusing reishi with ashwagandha and cinnamon to ground down, these combinations are never random– although sometimes they whimsically come together through intuitive whispers in the moment. They’re intentional pairings—herbal allies that support the gifts of the mushrooms, soften their edges, or even deepen the magic they carry.

Lion’s Mane + Gotu Kola + Moringa

This grounding yet energizing blend features moringa, lion’s mane, and gotu kola—three powerhouse botanicals that support clarity, focus, and overall brain health.

Moringa, a nutrient-dense antioxidant and gentle adaptogen, helps combat oxidative stress while nourishing the body. Gotu kola, a revered nervine and circulatory stimulant, enhances mental clarity, memory, and promotes calm focus due to increased blood and oxygen flow to the brain. Lion’s mane brings its well-known neuroprotective benefits to the mix, supporting cognitive function and nerve regeneration. Together, they form a harmonizing formula perfect for deep work, meditation, or staying centered and sharp throughout your day.

Reishi + Ashwagandha + Maca + Cinnamon

Rooted and robust with ashwagandha, resihi mushroom, maca & cinnamon this adaptogenic blend supports hormonal balance, emotional resilience, and steady energy throughout the day. Ashwagandha and maca team up to nourish the endocrine system, while reishi offers deep immune and nervous system support. Perfect for times of transition, busy days, active adventures and navigating the current state of the world today.

These pairings aren’t about perfection or precision—they’re about relationship. Listening to what the plants and mushrooms are asking. Listening to your body. Listening to the land, its wisdom, and all life that came before us.

And the best rule of thumb when concocting herbal blends – trust your hands and trust your heart. Receive the wisdom and support of the floral and fungal allies, allowing them to guide you deeper into connection with yourself and the Earth – after all, we are one and the same.
